Segregation Of Waste

At Aishabai College of Education, effective waste segregation is a key component of our commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. To manage waste efficiently and promote a cleaner campus, we have implemented a comprehensive waste segregation system featuring color-coded bins and designated e-waste boxes. Additionally, we actively engage our students in waste management practices through various awareness programs.

COLOR-CODED BINS

To facilitate proper waste segregation, we have set up color-coded bins across the campus:

• Green Bins: Used for organic waste, including food scraps and garden waste. This waste is either composted on-site or sent to specialized facilities for processing.
• Blue Bins: Designated for recyclable materials such as paper, plastics, glass, and metals. These materials are sorted and sent to appropriate recycling centres.
• Dedicated E-Waste Boxes: Specifically for electronic waste like old computers, smartphones, and other electronic devices. E-waste is collected separately to ensure safe and environmentally responsible disposal.

AWARENESS PROGRAMS

To ensure that all members of our college community understand and participate in waste segregation, we conduct various awareness programs:

• Workshops and Seminars: Regular workshops are organized to educate students and staff about the importance of waste segregation and the proper use of color-coded bins and e-waste boxes.
• Campaigns and Drives: Awareness campaigns are held to highlight the impact of waste on the environment and encourage proper waste management practices.
• Educational Materials: Informational posters and guides are displayed around the campus, providing clear instructions on how to sort and dispose of different types of waste correctly.
